Deep Purple - Worth The Wait. Recorded live in Providence,Rhode Island USA on March 5th 1985. Once again a great recording of a DP 85 show. I could actually belive this is a FM or SBD. Gillan is a bit up front in the mix, nothing disturbing, and there are some tiny volume fluctuations through the set, so there are a small possibility this actually is recorded outdoors. I recon some of you can enlighten us there. Tremendous work by Gillan on Nobodys Home, which I personally think is the best version I've ever heard. G really pushes his voice here.
Deep Purple are currently hunkered down in Nashville working on their next studio album, using the same set-up as for Infinite (released in April 2017). The band had a pre-recording writing session in a big studio in Germany in February (see photo above; no idea what they used the cherry picker for!)). Like the writing session they are keeping the recordings top secret, so here’s a photo of a local bus.

How much is Deep Purple vinyl worth? Is Deep Purple considered a metal band? Why is Deep Purple underrated (for me, the best band)? Daniel Mello, Guitarrist and Deep Purple fan. Answered Apr 12, 2017. I would go with Machine Head. Though it’s not my favourite studio album, the vast majority of people would say it’s definitely Machine Head. There is no weak moment, everything fits into place, the entire album feels like one single journey encompassing some of the greatest rock songs in history with some of the greatest keyboard and guitar solos. Deep Purple were at their absolute peak when they created Machine Head. It’s the album that contains the band’s most famous song and perhaps the most famous guitar riff in the world: Smoke on the Water.
