One of Us" ("En av oss" in Swedish) is the first single from Swedish pop group ABBA's final studio album The Visitors, their eighth for Polar, and their seventh for Epic and Atlantic. It was released in December 1981. The song is also included on the compilation albums Gold: Greatest Hits and Number Ones. One of Us"-which had the working titles "Number 1" and "Mio Amore"-was one of the last songs recorded for ABBA's 1981 album The Visitors, and features a lead vocal by Agnetha Fältskog

One of Us, ABBA’s last major hit and their last No. 1 single in many countries, was one of the last songs written for their album The Visitors. One of Us was one of the more darker songs written by Björn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson (the two men in the group). This was because their respective divorces from the two women in the group was taking a toll on their musical output. This song opens every episode of Vampire Weekend singer Ezra Koenig’s Beats 1 radio show, Time Crisis. The show meanders from current happenings to nostalgia for music from before childhood all the way to the previous.

ABBA is the third (second internationally) studio album by the Swedish pop group of the same name. It was originally released on 21 April 1975 through Polar Music and featured the hits "Mamma Mia" and "SOS". Following the Eurovision success of "Waterloo", ABBA saw the band gaining worldwide recognition. I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do" topped the charts in Australia, as did "Mamma Mia" shortly after. SOS" and "Mamma Mia" became hits in both the United States and the United Kingdom.

One of Us". Song by ABBA. from the album The Visitors. One of Us" was ABBA's last major hit, and their last No. 1 single in many countries. It became ABBA's 13th and final Eurochart and Irish No. 1 single, and also topped the charts in Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands, while reaching the Top 3 in Austria, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK. It also reached the top 10 in France, Norway, South Africa and Spain.

The big hit from ABBA's final album, 1981's The Visitors, 'One of Us' was one of various tracks that explored the darker territory of Ulvaeus and Benny's songwriting as the two men's divorces were beginning to influence their musical output. Indeed, the message of the song is about a woman trying to revive a dead relationship. The Name of the Game. Thank You for the Music.

They passed me by, all of those great romances You were, I felt, robbing me of my rightful chances My picture clear, everything seemed so easy And so I dealt you the blow One of us had to go Now it's different, I want you to know

Lyrics to "One Of Us" song by ABBA: They passed me by, all of those great romances You were, I felt, robbing me of my rightful chances . .Staring at the ceiling Wishing she was somewhere else instead One of us is lonely One of us is only Waiting for a call Sorry for herself, feeling stupid feeling small Wishing she had never left at all Never left at all. Staring at the ceiling Wishing she was somewhere else instead One of us is lonely One of us is only Waiting for a call.

This was the first single released from ABBA's final studio album The Visitors. It gave the group their final top 20 chart placing in the UK. Had the charts been compiled at Christmas that year, "One Of Us" would almost certainly have taken the spot. However, with no chart compiled that Christmas, the Human League's "Don't You Want Me" retained the top spot. The song only managed to peak at on the US Billboard chart Dave from Cardiff, WalesThis was Abba's last major hit, and effectively their swansong. Although it only got to in on the US Billboard chart, that may have been due to the fact that "One Of Us" was released in the US well over a year after it's European and UK release, and Abba had already disbanded by that time. Whatever else, this was one of the best songs they ever did. Deb from Melbourne, AustraliaA lot of the late Abba songs were depressing, but also their best.
