Rumbleseat was the acoustic-folk side project of Hot Water Music frontmen Chuck Ragan and Chris Wollard, and Samantha Jones. Formed in 1998, Rumbleseat released four 7" records before releasing the full length album, 'Rumbleseat Is Dead', which was released in 2005.

No mere side project for Hot Water Music 's Chuck Ragan and Chris Wollard, Rumbleseat is a radical departure from the distorted roar of the pair's primary outfit. Acoustic in presentation, this 14-song self-titled entry is sure to take many HWM fans where they've never been before. Opener "California Burritos" is a striking piece of unplugged punk - it's raw, emotive, and instantly gratifying. Equally good is the raggle-taggle tact of "Cursing Concrete," which puts a Gaelic slant on the band's presentation.
As the title says, Rumbleseat is dead. The one-time side project for Hot Water Music's Chuck Ragan and Chris Wollard along with Samantha Jones was never really a fully operational band. Anyone who was anticipating the release of the Rumbleseat album knows the constant delays that came along. One such delay was the loss of a number of recordings to a flood in Richmond, Virginia, which meant all the original covers had to be reprinted. For over two years fans anxiously awaited its release and until now, were let down with delay after delay. The end result though was well worth the wait, especially for fans who didn't have any or all of the original releases from the Gainesville trio.
