Kill Yr Idols is an EP by American alternative rock band Sonic Youth. It was released in October 1983, originally only in Germany, by record label Zensor. Kill Yr Idols was released in October 1983, originally only in Germany. In 1995, the tracks on Kill Yr Idols not found on 1983's Confusion Is Sex were appended to the DGC reissue of that album.

Abrasive and archaic, theatrical and confrontational, Confusion Is Sex marks the opening strides that Sonic Youth made during their long slog through the American underground scene of the '80s. And yes, this album is underground if anything; it's lo-fi to the point of tonal drabness, as the instruments seem to ring out in only one tone, that of screechy noise. Yet that tone in itself is part of the album's style, which is one of antithesis.

Reissue of the 1983 album with four bonus tracks (10 to 13) which were previously released in 1983 on the Kill Yr. Idols EP. All tracks were recorded at Wharton Tier's Studio in 8 tracks, except "I Wanna Be Your Dog" which was recorded live at The Pier, Raleigh, N.C. during the Sonic Youth/Swans Savage Blunder Tour in November 1982, "Lee Is Free" which was recorded at Lee's on cassette, and the live version of "Shaking Hell" which was recorded at the Plugg Club, NYC on October 15th, 1983.
