Geoffrey Charles 'Geoff' Whitehorn is a guitarist and singer-songwriter, who has played as a member of If, Crawler and Procol. Posts About Geoff Whitehorn. During that period, he recorded his first solo album,

All the backing tracks were produced using an Akai Asq10 sequencer driving Roland D110, U110, and JX-P8 synths and an Akai S950 sampler. Guitar tracks use Paul Smith Signature guitar, Marshall 9001 pre-amp, Marshall 1" x 12" Jubilee combo. Produced, arranged and played by Geoff Whitehorn. I spent months writing and programming, but it was all recorded in about four days of down-time in commercial studios. Ninetyonogy (Whitehorn) Funkier, with twin guitars featured; a dirtier guitar sound and some nifty bass; brass chorus on synths; all a fascinating introduction to a vocal line. Theme: Escape from New York (Carpenter, Howarth) Moody, slow, menacing snare sound; lots of low guitar contributes to the sensation of a heavy film soundtrack: big build towards the end with twin guitars again.

Artist Biography by Gary Hill. Geoff Whitehorn was born in 1951. He began playing guitar at the age of 11. His first real band formed in 1973 - a group called If. He released a solo album, entitled Whitehorn, the next year. 1975 saw Whitehorn touring with Maggie Bell. He joined the group Back Street Crawler (later known just as Crawler) in 1976. He remained with that group until they broke up in 1979. His next move was to the Shortlist. He stayed with that group from 1979 to 1988 and recorded ten albums with them during his tenure  .

This was followed by two largely instrumental solo albums, Big in Gravesend and Geoff Who? which he also re-recorded and expanded as Geoff Who? 2002. In 1976–1979, Whitehorn played in the band Crawler (formerly known as Back Street Crawler), replacing the band's founder Paul Kossoff after the latter's death. Geoff also played as lead guitarist with Chuck Farley with Steve Simpson, Boz Burrell, Poly Palmer and Alan Coulter. Whitehorn, Geoff Filmography

They featured Geoff Whitehorn on guitars and vocals, Gabriel Magno on keyboards and Walt Monaghan on bass and vocals (replacing Mike Tomich, who had toured with the band prior to these last recordings), as well as Cliff Davies and Dick Morrissey. Coinciding with their more rock-influenced style, they also changed their famous small-case logo "if" for the more solid-looking large-case "IF". Geoff Whitehorn - guitars, vocals. Gabriel Magno - piano, organ. Walt Monaghan - bass, vocals.
