After Bathing at Baxter's, the third album by the San Francisco rock band Jefferson Airplane, was released in 1967 as RCA Victor LSO-1511 (stereo) and LOP-1511 (mono). The cover art is by artist Ron Cobb. Due to the lack of a breakout hit, the experimental album was significantly less successful than its predecessor from a commercial standpoint, peaking at number 17 on the Billboard album chart and failing to attain a RIAA certification.

From the beginning The Baxters have been the result of opposing forces. Rattling bass complements fluid guitarwork. Pulsating drums align with rhythmic strumming. Just as in a true Equinox, the days and nights recording the album felt equally short and long, stretching practices into evenings and sessions early into the morning. The process began much as the band did, beginning with Taylor and Justin’s rhythm section, played onto scratch tracks that were once demos from Quinton.
