Other Voices is the seventh studio album by the Doors, released by Elektra Records in October 1971. It was the first album released by the band following the death of the lead singer Jim Morrison in July 1971 with keyboardist Ray Manzarek and guitarist Robby Krieger sharing lead vocals. Tracks for the album had begun before Morrison's death and the band hoped that Morrison would return from Paris to finish them.

Woman" album and during the final mixing sessions for that album, Jim Morrison went to Paris with his girlfriend to live there for some months. Morrison was tired of several problems of being a "Rock Star" and of his legal problems too, so he needed a rest. Woman" was the last album that The Doors had in contract for Elektra, so Morrison felt free to live in Paris for some months. Interviews with Manzarek, Krieger and Densmore said that after Morrison left the .

Other Voices has been added to your Cart. Paul ends the album with "Calling You" from the excellent film Bagdad Cafe. Though very recognizable to the original Young takes the melody,vocally bends the notes and sings them with a much more haunted melancholy than the desperate and yearning tone of the original. Overall this is a wonderful album and one of the most well rounded and soul oriented release Paul Young made since his debute No Parlez'. The albums sounded is still rooted in 80's production elements. And why not? A good half of it was recorded at the end of 1989.
Another undeniable plus to Other Voices (1971) is that after being relegated as sidemen, each of the players is given an outlet for their songs and underutilized talents. Manzarek's bluesy opener "In the Eye of the Sun" has hints of "Down So Long" and "The Changeling. However, its true earmarks are the greasy slide guitar licks proffered by Krieger during the solo, and in response to Manzarek's lead vocal.
