This Fire is Paula Cole's second album. According to the RIAA, the album has gone double platinum, selling over 2 million copies in United States and peaked at No. 20 on the Billboard 200 chart. According to the booklet, the album is dedicated to "the inner fire of all life. May our seeds of light open, brighten, and sow peace on earth". Writing and producing the album herself, she recorded all of it in roughly 2 weeks. Cole released three (official) singles from the album
It was released on December 15, 2014, by RCA Records, bringing an end to his 14-year hiatus that followed his 2000 album Voodoo. The album was produced and mostly written by D'Angelo, who collaborated with musicians such as percussionist Questlove, bassist Pino Palladino, guitarist Isaiah Sharkey, and horn player Roy Hargrove.
Written by Paul McCartney, Unreleased song. Chase My Blues Away was the working title of Your Loving Flame from the Driving Rain album. It was premiered during the 1999 Parkinson show, with Paul on Piano joined by David Gilmour on guitar part-way through. Before playing the song, Paul declared that he was only just kind of finishing it up – came to me in an hour or so – words and music.
