Minor Threat is a compilation album by the American hardcore punk band Minor Threat. It was released in March 1984 through Dischord Records. The compilation consisted of the group's first and second extended plays, Minor Threat (originally released June 1981) and In My Eyes (originally released December 1981). The 1984 Minor Threat LP featured the same cover as the 1981 Minor Threat EP, depicting vocalist Ian MacKaye's younger brother Alec (Untouchables, The Faith).
The only official album Minor Threat ever released was a mere eight songs - but that was enough. Building on the promise and fire of the band's earlier singles, Out of Step instantly became iconic for American hardcore, not to mention for the . scene, for years to come, as well as any number of bands who conflated personal and social politics. That any number of restrained turn-of-the-century emo acts could refer to songs on Out of Step as much as fiery punk's-not-dead revivalists is demonstration enough of the record's impact

Minor Threat's first and only album was recorded in 1983, the year they ceased to exist as a band. While they had already released several EPs and appeared on a number of compilation albums they had yet to produce anything that could be called an album. What they finally came up with was Out Of Step a classic in it's own right and one of the most influential albums of it's time. While at first glance Out Of Step is just a continuation of the speedy political hardore seen on their first EPs, the band has grown both lyrically and technically.
